Sebum (oil) and dead skin cells in the pores oxidise, giving the dark color of blackheads. “Environmental pollution, especially when living in city, can be the main cause,” says skincare expert, Teresa Tarmey. Exfoliate skin regularly to keep blackheads at bay. “My favorite way to treat them is with a mild retinol,” says Tarmey. “It keeps clears away anything that will block the pore.”
